Custom Avatars For Norwegian Cruise Lines
NCL has just launched their latest cruise liner, the Norwegian Gem. This ship is like no other. It's been designed with a hip, chic, flair that truly reflects the personal tastes of its target demographic - urban, fashion-forward, affluent, young NYC professionals and trend-setters. The Norwegian Gem boasts deluxe eateries, spas, bars, lounges, bowling, and more. To promote the site, a special website and advertising campaign has been launched around an 'It Girl' theme. On the new website, visitors can create their own custom avatar personalities and join the NCL Gem entourage.
D'Angelo was selected to illustrate the entourage avatars for Norwegian Cruise Lines. This large project entailed character modeling, and detailed illustrations that made up the many variations on skin tones, eye shapes, eye colors, hair colors, outfits, accessories and background settings. “It was an honor to be trusted with such a high-profile project for NCL. The deadline was really tight and there was a sizeable amount of custom illustration to create and get just right. I'm proud to say that the avatars were a great success. NCL has taken notice at these accomplishments. There's a lot of satisfaction in that for me,” D'Angelo said. ![]()

Recording Artist Commissions D'Angelo Design
Texas-based recording artist, singer, song writer, musician and speaker, Gary Humble has engaged D'Angelo Design for professional, targeted branding and product design. Humble has been all over the nation performing, training and speaking at Christian churches and events. After a four-year recording hiatus, he returned to the studio with fresh ideas and creative musicians. His new album, Glory All To You, marks a new chapter in Humble's career — one that will certainly grant him with farther reach and greater exposure.
Humble hired D'Angelo Design to develop a targeted brand that included start-up projects such as: logo, album design and website. D'Angelo said, “As a designer and musician myself, it's always a great experience to collaborate with other musicians. Gary's project was a great opportunity to stretch my legs (so-to-speak) and work a bit in some styles and approaches that I don't always get to experience in a typical day, working with large companies. I think the end result of this project for Gary has left him with a very approachable, memorable and flexible brand that will support his career into the future." ![]()
